World Storytelling Day – March 20, 2009

World Storytelling Day is a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling. It is celebrated every year on the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere, the first day of autumn equinox in the southern. On World Storytelling Day, as many people as possible tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many places as possible, during the same day and night. Participants tell each other about their events in order to share stories and inspiration, to learn from each other and create international contacts.

wsdmatssmallThe name of my blog is “Stories of Transformation” and over the past nine months I’ve shared stories that have been significant to me — stories of transformation in African communities, stories of the Father’s love for us, stories of vocation.

For World Storytelling Day, I’d like to invite you to share your stories with me. The theme for 2009 is “NEIGHBOURS.” Talk about the friends in your life and the significant impact they’ve had, a shared experience that is humorous, or a related story. If you give me permission, I’ll post the stories in my blog.
